Giulia sent her updated résumé on Saturday night, fearing she might forget important attachments before the internship interview. Today she entered the glass-walled room ten minutes early, greeting the HR manager with a confident yet humble handshake. They asked why she chose that department, and she replied by citing a university project similar to their quarterly roadmap. When they presented a difficult client scenario, she explained how she mediated a heated discussion during a group workshop. At the end of the meeting, they agreed she would receive an email by Friday with the outcome and instructions on the documents to sign. In the end, one simple sentence is enough to repeat aloud. In the end, one simple sentence is enough to repeat aloud. In the end, one simple sentence is enough to repeat aloud. Before hanging up, they quietly repeat a useful sentence from the scene. Those short phrases come back every week in real life. Tomorrow they will try the same expression in another similar context. Before hanging up, they quietly repeat a useful sentence from the scene.

How to say you did something early

è entrata nella sala vetri dieci minuti prima

she entered the glass-walled room ten minutes early

In Italian, you can end with 'prima' to specify 'early.'

[action] [time period] prima

  • è arrivato cinque minuti prima
  • sono usciti mezz'ora prima
  • ha iniziato la riunione un'ora prima

Use '[time] prima' after the verb to show you did something a set time early.

Talking about what you explained in an interview

ha spiegato come ha mediato una discussione accesa

she explained how she mediated a heated discussion

You can introduce what you explained with 'ha spiegato come...'

ha spiegato come [action completed]

  • ho spiegato come ho risolto il problema
  • abbiamo spiegato come abbiamo lavorato in gruppo

'Ha spiegato come...' works well to narrate how you handled situations in the past.

Using 'concordare che' for outcomes

hanno concordato che riceverà un'email entro venerdì

they agreed she would receive an email by Friday

hanno concordato che [result/future action]

  • abbiamo concordato che inizierò lunedì
